Data about new incidents are added to the Crime Data Explorer on the 15th of the following month. Once published, all data are updated on a daily basis. A CSV file containing all public data is available for download using the link below. The file contains following elements:

| Incident Zip | Zip code or other postal code associated with the address |
| Incident Latitude | Latitude coordinates where incident occurred |
| Incident Longitude | Longitude coordinates where incident occurred |
| Initial Contact Reason | The reason for the initial contact with the subject |
| Offense Code1 | Most serious offense committed by the subject prior to or at the time of the incident |
| Offense Code2 | Most serious offense committed by the subject prior to or at the time of the incident |
| Offense Code3 | Most serious offense committed by the subject prior to or at the time of the incidents |
| Officer Ambushed | Indicates if a law enforcement officer was ambushed |
| Officer Approach Subject | Indicates if a law enforcement officer moved toward the subject |
| Senior Officer Present | Indicates if a senior officer was present or consulted prior to when force was used in the incident |

| Subject Armed or Believed to be Armed | Indicates whether the subject was armed or believed to be armed with a weapon other than hands, fists or feet |
| Subject Resisted | Indicates whether the subject resisted law enforcement during the incident |
| Subject Resistance Type | Indicates how a subject resisted law enforcement during an incident |
| Subject Force Type | The type/s of force used by law enforcement against the subject |
| Total Officers Involved | Total number of law enforcement officers who applied force during the incident |
| Agency Officers Involved | Total number of officers from the reporting agency who used force during the incident |
| Officer Identifiable | Indicates whether the officer was readily identifiable by clothing or insignia during the incident |
| Officer On Duty | Indicates whether the law enforcement officer was on duty at the time of the incident |
| Officer Shots Fired | Used to indicate if the law enforcement officer discharged a firearm at or in the direction of a person during the incident |
| LEOKA Incident Number | A unique case number assigned by a law enforcement agency to identify a particular LEOKA (law enforcement officer killed or assaulted) incident |
